The usual shenanigans. Finally warming up in these parts. Another weekend of steel on tap, before those rockets start rushing back to the lake. Garden is going in, painting Nance's bike to look something like a watermelon and Lutsen took a partial swim on our walk this evening.

The all new dog-blog!! Just kidding...but the little dude is pretty rad. Signs of spring are finally here in full force, including, steelhead, budding plants, birds, bugs, late evening sunlight and no surf.

Here's Nance and Lutsen (9 weeks and 3 days and 8.7lbs)

Dogs and fish, fish and dogs. Brent made it up for a wicked weekend of steelheading and some of the best sucker fishing we have ever gotten into. Chrome, more chrome and a little more chrome....and one 20" whitefish (now smoked to perfection). Mean while, back at the ranch, Nance was gardening up a storm and looking after little piss and vinegar (Lutsen) himself. May long weekend here in north-western Ontario equates foul, messed up weather including snow/hail one minute and 30mph winds and sun the next....and plenty of good times.

Let the bombardment begin. Picked up Lutsen our new 8 week old male Boykin Spaniel from the airport down in Minneapolis on saturday night. The little dude made his way from Arkansas and was full of energy straight out of his kennel. Bold and curious for a pup his size. Back in the Bay and he is settling in and wreaking all the havoc....of the puppy kind.

Mini hiatus on the steelhead front, but only because we went all urban this past weekend and weren't going to get on the rivers being down in the Twin Cities and all. Plenty of days on the water on tap for the next little while...that is; between keeping and eye on this little guy. Retrieving tennis balls like its going out of style.

No new surf shots of late...mostly because it tis the season of diminished waves here on the lake; although the boys did manage a session or two last weekend while i was in the Peg. Focus is on steelhead, being outside, garden, and the new pup showing up on Saturday. I'm sure there will be a plethora of gratuitous puppy photo's in the days and weeks to come....along with a whole lot more steel.
