Saturday...-8C by the time it warmed up mid day, wind SW around 20kts at the most...short fetch...Winston and i cruised out for what we thought would be some fairly insignificant waves. Wetsuit..check...booties...check...mitts.........i had mine, Win on the other hand, had left his at home. He sported 2 pairs of extra neoprene liner socks as mitts instead...our feet may have suffered a bit. Trudge down the trail through the snow. Water looks cold, rocks covered in ice. Had to be colder than -8C...water somewhere just above freezing, not bad looking waves though. Waves built to about chest high at its peak during the afternoon....pretty rad when your expecting ankle slop....long rides...frozen feet, out of the water after two hours... dark....painful change out of the wetsuits....stoked.

Some ice from a sunday morning jaunt up into the hills

The wind is cranking out on the lake this A.M....32knots from the SW, waves up around 7'. Alberta clipper coming our way. Hopefully Winston and crew get some waves this afternoon. Laid some bathroom tile last night and will complete the job this evening, forecast looks like saturday A.M. holds surf potential.

Word is that the waves sunday were more like waste high and clean, out at Terrace Bay....a far cry from 13'!! What the heck? Holy giant swell in California though...wow. Got out for the first ski of the season after work yesterday...fast tracks.

Here's a shot taken by Bob Tema down at Stoney Point this morning.

Far from the lake and real big. Monster WNW swell..

Well... close to 40cm of snow over the weekend, dumpalishes. Big Colorado low brought some big winds to the lake and a whole lot of snow on sunday. East south east, forecast called for 13 footers near Terrace. Stayed home, played outside, did some drywalling and rested the shoulder one more day. Hopefully the boys scored some fresh ones amidst the snow of the northshore.
