After much contemplation, some humming and hawing and several emails back and forth with Tom Neilson over the last year, i finally settled on a new sled. This stubby, wide and thick, slightly concaved hull, stringerless epoxy stick should put me into just about any wave round here. Combine that with a quad setup with Futur Fins or the single 8'' Greenough 4A and it'll be a badass allrounder. Just need some waves.

Mountain Life Magazine is an outdoor lifestyle publication with two versions, one out of the Georgian Bay area of Ontario on the shores of Lake Huron and the other comin out of the Coast Mountain's of British Columbia. All n' all an upstanding looking Canadian publication...covering it all...including surfing the great lakes. Headed back down the shore on Saturday morning expecting the surf to still be pumping. Though it wasn't the hollow overhead glassy pit of perfection that some doodze scored down in Duluth, it was fun and well worth the several hours in the water. Just a couple shots for the time being.

Grey, rainy and winds gusting to 34knot @ E/ ENE. Majorly long hiatus, followed by a kickass start to the season. Started out disorganized, choppy and burly. Had to duck out mid day, but the latest report was that it cleaned up nice and stayed large. Nice rides and more than few taken on the head. Gauging by the fact that the buoy is still up around 12' at 10pm...and the wind is set to shift offshore, makes it seem like it should be good for a saturday morning session.

NORTH GALES TO 40 KNOTS. SCATTERED SHOWERS.
WAVES 12 TO 17 FEET SUBSIDING TO 10 TO 14 FEET.


Lakes should be rocking, although a north wind does little for creating waves on our side of the lake obviously. For the rest of the lake surfers though, it could be a different story.
Holdin out for some much anticipated waves later in the week though.

Excuse the gratuitous backyard baby longboard session, but it was just a matter of time. With September looming, one thing is for certain, waves are on there way around here. So are young little, second generation lake surfers.



Here, Oskar is like.."hey dad, remember, head and chest up while paddling out, just like this".

Lack of posts the last little while, mostly due to the fact that we have been keeping busy round the headquarters, with visitors, everyday life and some essential home fixit projects that need to be completed prior to the fall season. More to come though. Check yeah later.
