Royal slap down with the 6 weight on the ole salmonids the other day. Zero complaints on this front, that's for sure. Coho, lake trout, rainbow and even some native and "elusive" coaster brook trout. Sucks to be us....not.
Ridiculously beautiful morning today. Thin dusting of snow on yellow tamarack. Sun blazing through low on the horizon and below freezing temps. Only camera to be had were my eyes and my brain.
live well, be well
peace out all

Headed back down the shore on Saturday morning expecting the surf to still be pumping. Though it wasn't the hollow overhead glassy pit of perfection that some doodze scored down in Duluth, it was fun and well worth the several hours in the water. Just a couple shots for the time being.
Pulled this shot from Bob Tema's Flickr page, although it may have been taken by Brian Stabinger...either way, glassy and overhead fresh water perfection.

Grey, rainy and winds gusting to 34knot @ E/ ENE. Majorly long hiatus, followed by a kickass start to the season. Started out disorganized, choppy and burly. Had to duck out mid day, but the latest report was that it cleaned up nice and stayed large. Nice rides and more than few taken on the head. Gauging by the fact that the buoy is still up around 12' at 10pm...and the wind is set to shift offshore, makes it seem like it should be good for a saturday morning session.

John, picks his line after catching a bomb on the outside. He was stoked!
